I was the 2nd leg and we were in 2nd place when I got the baton. I tried my best to catch Stansbury, but by home stretch he had me, and unitah, and some other school caught up to me. And they ended up passing us, because my hand off with our 3rd guys sucked. Last race ever through out high school. Pretty sad that it has ended. But glad also for some reason. Cooled down 0.25 miles.
Thu, 15 May 2014 06:00:00 Wed, May 14, 2014 http://Matt.fastrunningblog.com/blog-05-14-2014.html
Afternoon- 3 miles.
Wed, 14 May 2014 06:00:00 Tue, May 13, 2014 http://Matt.fastrunningblog.com/blog-05-13-2014.html
Afternoon- 3 miles with striders.
Tue, 13 May 2014 06:00:00 Mon, May 12, 2014 http://Matt.fastrunningblog.com/blog-05-12-2014.html
Afternoon- 1.5 mile warm up. 100, 200, 300, 400 all out. First 200 was 28. Solid start. Time was 2:03.60. Fastest time this year, and 3rd fastest ever. Later I raced the 4x4 and we barely got state. So I am going to state. And my split was 54ish. Cooled down. Great day of racing.
Thu, 08 May 2014 06:00:00 Wed, May 07, 2014 http://Matt.fastrunningblog.com/blog-05-07-2014.html
Afternoon- Did a 2 mile shake out with the milers. Later did a mile warm up. Did some strides. Felt kinda sluggish, because I hadn't ate in a while.

Race Report- I was in line 7, which I hate. So I took the lead after the first 100 meters, and held of the 51 guys till the 210 mark. Then I dropped off badly. The last 100 meters I struggled in. And came by at 55.83. Not bad, I guess. 1 mile cool down.
Wed, 07 May 2014 06:00:00 Tue, May 06, 2014 http://Matt.fastrunningblog.com/blog-05-06-2014.html
Morning- 3 miles. I did a stride out by the line. I took out pretty good, first 200 was 29. First lap was 60/61. 2nd lap felt solid until 150 left. And time was 2:05.09. Fastest of the season, but fairly slow time. 2 mile cool down. Good day of racing, and life. Great experience, and the competition was great!
Sat, 03 May 2014 06:00:00 Fri, May 02, 2014 http://Matt.fastrunningblog.com/blog-05-02-2014.html
Afternoon- 5.5 miles.
Fri, 02 May 2014 06:00:00 Thu, May 01, 2014 http://Matt.fastrunningblog.com/blog-05-01-2014.html
Morning- 3 miles.

Afternoon- 3 miles with striders.
Thu, 01 May 2014 06:00:00 Wed, Apr 30, 2014 http://Matt.fastrunningblog.com/blog-04-30-2014.html
Morning- 3 miles with last set of plyos ever!

Afternoon- 1.5 warm up, kosmin test, 1.5 mile cool down. I was late to practice, because I slept in.

Afternoon- 1.5 mile warm up. 4x400's all out. We did them on the road. It was all downhill and crazy back wind. So we were going insanely fast. Felt good actually. Cooled down to get mileage. Good day.
Tue, 29 Apr 2014 06:00:00 Mon, Apr 28, 2014 http://Matt.fastrunningblog.com/blog-04-28-2014.html
Morning- 3 miles with plyos.

Race Report- I took out fast, first 200 was 28, solid pace. First lap was 1:01. Perfect! Came by the 600 meter mark at 1:32ish. Tried pushing it in. Got a time of 2:05.94!!! S.R.! I am going to keep my momentum going! I am pumped! My speed is turning over! It's time! Did a 0.75 mile cool down. Then jumped into my work out immediatley. 1.4ish miles in 8:08. I threw up on this at the start, but was surprised I even ran that. The mile was better. I was told it was 1.1 miles, and I ran that in 5:50. Then the 300's I ran :43, and 42! Fastest 300's ever! Cooled downed to get mileage!
Mon, 28 Apr 2014 06:00:00 Sat, Apr 26, 2014 http://Matt.fastrunningblog.com/blog-04-26-2014.html
Morning- Woke up, had a great breakfast. Did one mile to shake out the legs a little. Finally warmed up 2 miles. And then got my sticker, put my spikes on, and before I knew it. They almost started the race without me!!!

Race Report- I was all nerve racked, because I almost missed my heat. And so I got on the line, and then they fired the gun (this all happened within 20 seconds). So I wasn't really mentally in it at the start. First 200 was 30/31. Terrible start. Came by the 400 at 64 (1:04) no buneo first lap. I realized I had to start moving to get a good time. So I made a beast move on the back stretch and really got moving. But then at 200 left some kid cut me off really bad, and killed my momentum. And I basically just finished the race again at 2:07.75... Ugh, another attempt not what I wanted at all. I talk, and talk about how I will do stuff. I basically have 3 more chances of qualifying for state. And they are not to be wasted. So let's see where that takes me. Cooled down to get mileage. And the trip was just amazing, I had a blast, and was well worth it all! And we saw Shumway on the way home!!
Sat, 26 Apr 2014 06:00:00 Fri, Apr 25, 2014 http://Matt.fastrunningblog.com/blog-04-25-2014.html
Morning- 3 miles.

Afternoon- 4 miles with some acceralations.
Fri, 25 Apr 2014 06:00:00 Thu, Apr 24, 2014 http://Matt.fastrunningblog.com/blog-04-24-2014.html
Morning- 3 miles. First was 5:25, second 5:32. Coach talked to us, and that got me mentally into the work out. This one everyone fell off, or I just kept pace. But it was 5:29. Last one was extremely hard for some reason. It was only 5:30 (I think). I lost track of my times. But we had 300's and that was just the start today! Times were :45, and :44 on the 300's. Same times for the last 3 weeks of this work out. 1.5 mile cool down. Weights after, getting buff. Plyos after that.... And I was just wanting to be done. I was exhausted, and spent after plyos.

Afternoon- Ran 3 miles.
Mon, 21 Apr 2014 06:00:00 Sat, Apr 19, 2014 http://Matt.fastrunningblog.com/blog-04-19-2014.html
Morning- 10 miles with the team. 1.6ish tempo hard at the end.
