I woke up ready to go! I ate a good breakfast. And I got to the high school early to watch/help with the meet. My event was 4th to last. So I had to wait for a long time before I raced... But I was just focusing on what I would do to prepare mentally. So I did my warm up pretty early. But it's all good, because I did a lot of stride outs to get ready too.

Race Report 800 meters-

I started out at a weird pace, but then got immeditaly into race pace after a few steps. Paul was next to me. He kinda cut me off at the start so I had to step one step in the other lane, and I had got back in front. Hopefully I didn't cut him off (sorry Paul).... But started out pretty good. I cut in, but then a bunch of kids cut in front of me, and cut me off... I was the back mid pack.... And I didn't want to work my way up, until the next lap so I just kinda relaxed on the back pack. But guys were clear out in lane 2, and 3. So I would have gone out to lane 4 to pass, and get in the front. But I came by the first lap about 1:02-:03. Not sure, but then I told myself this was my lap. And I took off a little faster to get the speed going again. Going around the back stretch I passed a few kids. And then I was at the 200 mark. Telling myself to go out loud. The kid next to me probally thought I was weird, but I am! And I started to kick and pass like crazy, and coming down home stretch I tried my best to rip the track out, and focus on my form. Only passing a few kids. I saw Abel pull ahead at the 200, and wanted to go up by him, but too many guys in the way... I then finished at a 2:07! That's a 3 second P.R.!! And I qualifyed for BYU! :) This race was the kind of race that I needed! Like it was a break through. And I now am going to aim for state! I know I can make it now!

Race Report 400 meter (4x4)-

I was a sub in for the 4x4. I was the first leg. And I started out fast and a good pace, but running this was not as bad as it used to be! Like it's easier now than ever! And I come down home stretch and boom! My blister on my pinky toe pops, and blood comes oosing out.... But I ran a 56.2 split! Not bad! But I will aim for a 55 next time, or faster! :) Good racing day!
