Morning- Had to be at the school at 6:30 to get to the meet. It was in Cedar City. I had a good breakfast, and hydrated pretty well. I also fell asleep on the ride up there (about 45 minute drive). I was tired, but after that short nap I felt ready to roll! I warmed up at least 2 miles. And then I was ready to go, and it started to rain a little. And then it start to thunder a little. And they postponed (spell check) the Varsity boys race. I then just told myself to calm down, and wait for my time to come. Then they finally called us to race in 10 minutes after a half hour of waiting.

Race Report- The gun went off, and I took out pretty fast. And I got packed in with this pack about of 40 guys. And 500 meters in. This Dixie kid would not let me pass him. There were 2 guys and him in the middle, but slightly back. So I wanted to take the gap. And he wouldn't let me through. So I gave him the memo I wanted through, and he took off sprinting, and as soon as that gap was there. I got in the passing than, and took off! And I really started moving my way up from here. I was about in 20th place here. And I kept on creeping my way up. And we finished the 1st loop (course contained 3 laps, small, large, medium.) But Kyler and I pushed the pace here. On the down stretch (first mile 5:25). The 2nd lap. I had to push the pace, because Kyler was falling off a little, So we kept on going. And Eric Lambert from Cedar kept on passing me. And I wouldn't let him pass me. So we probally passed each other 4-7 times just on the 2nd lap. And finishing the 2nd lap. I really started to feel good. Like I started passing more people. And on the 3rd lap, on the little up hill part this is were I thought I was going to hit the worse wall ever of time. But it wasn't anywhere as bad as I thought. So I kept on going. With 400 meters to go. I was in 12th place, and Kyler, Richfield kid, Nephi, and Josh T. were infront of me. And I wanted to pass them sooo bad. But they were just going too fast. And I just tried holding a good pace into the finish. And Dallin R from DH comes on me fast, and flys by. I tried really hard to catch him, but he ended up beating me, and that made me mad. But I told him Good job like 5 seconds after we crossed the finish line, and he called me a "loser!" What a jerk!! But overall Great race! Time was the same as last year at region (which was at the end of the season) so that's a very good sign. There was great runners there today in my race. And glad to have them there. So I get prepared for future races, and meets! Learning from the positive of this race! I am happy with it. And I am proud! :)
